What is the Community Appointment Day?

Dear Patient,

We would like to offer you an appointment at our MSK Community Appointment Day.

This isn’t like any other appointment, you won’t just see 1 clinician in a small room:

  • You will be able to see all the specialists you need to at this appointment.
  • You will have as long as you need with the clinicians you need to see, there is no end time to your appointment.
  • Most patients do not need to see us again after this as they have had every treatment they needed.
  • There will be other patients seen at the same time as you, but we have designed the event to ensure your privacy. The sports hall will be divided into large sections for each specialism with 5-20 clinicians per section.

How long will it take?

Most people take 30-90 minutes to see everyone they need. Some people can take longer depending on how many clinicians & services they see. The longest a patient has spent has been 2.5 hours.

Is my appointment at a specific time?

You can arrive anytime within your chosen 30 minute check-in window. There are no set start or end times for anyone’s appointments. There may be a short wait to see your first clinician as we give each patient as long as they need.

How Do I Book my Place?

You can book yourself in using the second link on your text message. You may need to use the 2nd drop down option to see the Community Appointment Day (as below). Appointments will be bookable from 12pm with the latest slots starting at 4.30pm. You can arrive anytime within your chosen appointment timeslot.

How Do I Get There?

The K2 is served by Metrobus Number 2 (timetable). The bus stop is within 150m of the centre.

There is free parking on site including disabled parking bays. The car park is located at the front of the centre.

What Accessible Features are There?

Our event is all held on single level the ground floor. It is approximately 100m from the main entrance to the event space. There will be stewards and signage to help you navigate. All doors at K2 are either automatic, or held open.

There is a cafe in the main entrance with seating halfway between the main entrance and the event space. Vending machines & water fountains are also available.

There may be a large number of people in the space. If you struggle with crowds or noise sensitivity you may prefer an alternative appointment. Please call us to discuss this.

Disabled Gendered toilets are available opposite the event hall. There are no baby changing facilities available in K2 outside of the swimming changing rooms.
